About Benjamin Trouillard
Benjamin has started his career in the research field, and kept moving in innovative environments, developing his creativity in the practical implementation of new ideas since 2017.
Early career
After graduating from ENSTA Paris (France) and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Benjamin started his career in the French public research lab LOCEAN (IPSL) helping studying the natural oil seepage phenomena. He stayed on the research area in working for a cutting edge technology French startup developing bonded repair and fastening solutions for the offshore and nuclear industries, COLDPAD.
He then went back to is core education by joining Principia, a French offshore consultancy company, working on both oil and gas and floating wind projects.
Professional Experience
As a naval architect at Principia, Benjamin has been involved in all the different steps of the design loop of offshore projects, in both O&G and renewable industries. His versatile experience enveloped analyses like stability, structural design, motions assessment and mooring design for floating and fixed bottom structures.
He has participated in several conceptual design of wind turbine floating foundations, as well as from conceptual to as-built design for floating electrical hub. He also led detailed design of jack up barges.
He then joined Empire, wanting to continue to developing the thriving industry of the offshore wind.
