Jiang Du
Structural Engineer
Jiang has practical knowledge of offshore wind foundations alongside problem solving for dynamics and soil damping.
About Jiang Du
Early career
Jiang graduated from the Dalian University of Technology, China with a Master of Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering.
His career started as an Offshore Structural Engineer at Goldwind, China.
Professional Experience
Throughout his career, Jiang has worked on over 30 projects located in China and Vietnam, including concept design of monopile, jacket and high-rise pile cap foundations. Jiang has a good knowledge of offshore wind farm characteristics in China, including ice, earthquake condition, rock layers and soft mud layer geology.
Jiang has supported the Zhongnan Engineering Corporation Institute of China with pile fatigue analysis of high-rise pile cap foundation in Bac Lieu 3, Vietnam.
He has developed a soil damping analysis methodology for monopile foundation and also a novel foundation design, guide monopile.
Third party review of monopile foundation code check in BINH DAI, Vietnam.
Jiang also helped Goldwind to acquire conformity statements from DNV in terms of integrated design methodology of support structures for offshore wind turbines.
Why offshore wind?
“The winds over the ocean carry not just energy, but hope for a world powered by nature. Being part of its development continually teaches me to revere nature and harness its power responsibly. I hope to design superior offshore wind foundations in the coming years.”
Specialist Areas
Offshore wind foundation concept design, pile soil interaction analysis, soil damping and dynamics.
